The application for the 2019-2020 District 28 Senatorial Scholarship is now available below.

Who may apply:

  • You and your parents (if you are a dependent student) must be Maryland residents living in the 28th legislative district. Scholarships will not be granted to students outside of the 28th District. The 28th District includes all of Charles County with the exclusion of Pinefield, Brandywine, Bryantown and Hughsville (all District 27A).  If you need to verify your residence in the 28th district, please visit http://mdelect.net/.
     
  • If you are currently receiving a scholarship from Senator Ellis, you do not need to reapply unless you are applying to graduate school.
     
  • Current high school seniors and full-time and part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students. Students attending a private career school may also apply. Audited courses cannot be used to reach the minimum credit hours required for full-time or part-time status.You may use this scholarship at an out-of-state school only if your major is not available at a Maryland school. The Office of Student Financial Assistance (OFSA) must verify that your major is unique (i.e. not offered in Maryland). Questions regarding “unique” majors should be directed to Carl Brooks at the Maryland Higher Education Commission at carl.brooks@maryland.gov.
